Frequently asked questions
What is Strava?
Strava is the world’s largest community of active people. Over 135 million athletes in 195 countries use Strava to discover new routes, track their progress and engage with a motivating active community.
What is a challenge?
Strava challenges are designed to be an authentic way to motivate users to do what they do best - get active. A Strava challenge will always include a goal and some kind of reward. Participants that complete the goal of the challenge and meet the respective criteria will be able to claim the reward - prompted by dedicated notifications/emails.
How do I connect to the team challenge?
Go to https://strava.agency and connect with Strava. Validate your work email and you’ll then be given the option to join an existing team with your agency or to create a new one.
What if my agency is not listed?
Reach out to partners@strava.com for more information. This challenge is only open to U.S. and U.K. media agencies.
Can I find this challenge in the Strava app?
The Media Agency Challenge is an exclusive challenge that is hidden from the Strava app 'Challenge Gallery' section. However, when you join the challenge and authenticate as a media agency partner, you will be able to view the Media Agency Challenge within the 'Groups-Active' section on the Strava app.
How do I record my activity after I have signed up?
You should log activities via the Strava app recording functionality on your phone or through a recording device (ex: Applewatch). Activities logged manually will not be counted. When logging activities, please make sure to use the Strava account you were logged into when you hit 'register' and authorised the Media Agency Challenge microsite to connect to your Strava account. As you have authorised the microsite to connect, your activity data will sync and will appear on your team's leaderboard on the microsite.
How long should each activity be?
Each activity logged should be >20 minutes each
If a sport category is not listed on the Strava app Challenge page, does that mean it won't be counted?
No, any sport counts towards the Challenge goal, as long as it is recorded via GPS or virtually and has a minimum duration of 20 minutes on separate days.
How many can be in a team?
A team can be anywhere from one to five people. Since you’re competing with your team’s total numbers, the recommended size would be five.
Can I invite my friends to join?
This challenge is built for media agency teams only. Unfortunately, you’re not able to invite friends and family. Sorry! But we do encourage you to invite any colleagues working within your agency.
My activities are not loading. What do I do?
During the active challenge period, March 1st-31st, activities should be loaded and counted in your team’s total. If you have any problems with this, reach out directly to our technical partner in this challenge, Johan Tigér at Tigertech, johan@tigertech.se
In the event of a tie, what would be the winner selection process?
In the event of a tie, the winning team and the top two participants within the winning team will be selected based on the total distance covered across the challenge period.
Can I change teams?
No, you cannot change teams. Sorry!
Can I change team captains?
If you are the captain for your team, you can transfer that responsibility to another team member. Simply tap ‘Change captain’, select the new captain and confirm. The new captain will be notified by email.
